From the 24th of October to the end of November 2009, NOTCH 09’ was provide a comprehensive program of futuristic audio-visual performances, design and architecture exhibitions from both Nordic countries and China.

NOTCH09 Festival is the 4th installment of the NOrdic + CHinese Festival. This is the only local festival to be run simultaneously in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. The '09 NOTCH festival aims to promote new thinking and cross-disciplinary work in art, music, design and architecture through exchanges between creative talents in China and Nordic countries. NOTCH09 theme: ID-ENTITY digs the emerging scene of individuals with multiple identities that create their own micro entities by leveraging the online and digital means. NOTCH09 forecasts “ID-ENITTY” will become the next wave of the creative economy. Particularly, “NOTCH09:ID-entity” design & art exhibition in Beijing will be part of the 2009 World Design Congress and Beijing International Design Week, hosted by Ministry of Culture, China. Dagur Eggertsson(b.1965,冰岛雷克雅未克人)和Sami Rintala(b.1969,芬兰赫尔辛基人)2008年在挪威成立了合伙建筑事务所,两人都曾就读于赫尔辛基科技大学,学习建筑,各自的游学和工作背景非常丰富。

Rintala Eggertsson Architects was established in 2007 by the Finnish architect Sami Rintala and the Icelandic architect Dagur Eggertsson. The office bases it's activities on furniture design, public art projects, architecture and planning. They are currently working on projects in Norway, Iceland, France, Italy, Russia and China.

Sami Rintala (born 1969) has a long merit list after finishing his architect studies in Helsinki Finland 1999 under professor Juhani Pallasmaa. He established architect office Casagrande & Rintala 1998, which produced a series of acknowledged architectural installations around the world during the next five years until 2003. Sami Rintala's work is based on narrative and conceptualism. Resulting work is a layered interpretation of the physical, mental and poetic resources of the site.Important part of Rintala's work is teaching and lecturing in various art and architecture universities. He is currently professor in AHO Oslo and NTNU Trondheim.

Dagur Eggertsson (born 1965) has a professional background from a number of the most prominent offices in Oslo. After his professional degree from the Oslo School of Architecture in 1992, he started his collaboration with architect Vibeke Jenssen, as NOIS architects. In 1996 he finished a post-professional master's degree at the Helsinki University of Technology, where he started experimentation with building full scale architectonic objects, under the supervision of Professor Juhani Pallasmaa. Along with his professional practice, Eggertsson has taught architecture in Norway, Iceland and Sweden. He is currently a project examinator at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design.
